T-Bird II Project
It started as an older 2 seater that was configured as a single seat. I bought the project from a guy in California who was upgrading it to a "current" spec. 2 seater with the longer wings and beefed up fuselage cage. I have pretty much re-built the entire cage with new factory parts. I also have bought a lot of factory parts that are in boxes. We also fabricated all the ribs using a template obtained from the factory. If you would like to call I will fill in more detail. I work out of my home and am in when I'm not out.... If I am not here, please leave a message and I will return the call. (316-634-1166)
There are more parts in my basement that I don't have pictures of yet. They include the struts, windscreen, wing tips, and aileron cables.
The engine was worked on by a Rotax certified dealer a couple of years ago. He did not replace the crank but he replaced the seals, honed the cylinders, put an updated spline to fix the 582 "grey head water pump issue" and new gaskets. He put in new pistons and rings. It wasn't cheap. There is also a muffler that is not pictured. I have his workbook and warranty.

Here is a front shot of the fuselage. Almost entirely upgraded. For instance, the upper longitudinal tubes are steel. The wing attach parts are the thicker new ones. New style landing gear tubes. I keep it under a tarp. The duct tape is to cover the bolts to keep the tarp from wearing through.

New Gas Tank. New control parts.

This is the first time I saw this shot full size and am sorry it is not sharp focus. These are leading spars and tail parts.

More spars hanging in my garage.

Tubes next to the workbench. Almost all the tubes with handwriting on them are new from the factory.

Ribs.

This just shows that there is a complete set of new AN bolts. The factory wants about $1500 for these alone. (the shutter speed was too slow again...)

This is a box full of specialized factory extrusions, channels and other assorted new hardware. There is a few hundred bucks of factory parts here.

New pedal parts and bearings.

Horizontal tail components against the wall. Completed vertical tail in the box my wife is holding open.
